Tank and Rover

While in California visiting my family I got to know my sister's little tortoise Gilbert. What a cutie! As a kid I always had turtles, tortoises, etc so of course I got myself two little guys (or girls?)

I named them Tank and Rover and they are fun little pets! I took them for a nice outing in the backyard after locking the dog safely away (she would love to "play" with them). Tank and Rover were so happy wandering the yard and eating various plants.

They are baby leopard tortoises (these tortoises originate in Africa) and are only a few months old. They should end up weighing 50 or more pounds when full grown.

Here's a top view of Rover.

 Tank especially loved the dandelions.
